Best Android Tablets 2026: By Budget and Use Case
Best Android Tablets 2026: By Budget and Use Case
There is a good Android tablet at almost every price in 2026, but the market moves quickly. Samsung launched its Galaxy Tab S12 series in October, OnePlus and Lenovo have refreshed their lineups, and list prices have changed during the year. This guide groups current models by budget and use case so you can narrow the field quickly.
How These Picks Were Chosen
The picks below draw on the current best-tablet guides from Android Central (last updated August 27, 2026), Tom’s Guide (September 29, 2026) and Tech Advisor (September 17, 2026), with specifications from the manufacturers and GSMArena. Wherever a review measured something, such as battery life, the result is credited to that publication. Prices are list prices from the manufacturers’ US stores in October 2026. They are approximate, change often, and retailers regularly sell these tablets for less.
Best All-Rounder: Samsung Galaxy Tab S11
The Galaxy Tab S11 is Android Central’s “best alternative” pick and Tech Advisor’s “great all-rounder.” According to GSMArena’s specifications, it has an 11-inch 2,560 x 1,600 Dynamic AMOLED 2X display at 120Hz, a MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ processor, 12GB of RAM, a microSD slot, IP68 dust and water resistance, an 8,400mAh battery and 45W wired charging, in a body 5.5mm thick that weighs about 469g. Android Central highlights the S Pen included in the box, the quad speakers and the in-display fingerprint sensor, as well as Samsung DeX for a desktop-style layout with a keyboard attached.
Software support is the longest in the category. Samsung has confirmed seven years of Android upgrades and security updates for the Tab S11 series, according to SamMobile. The tablet launched with One UI 8 on Android 16.
Price: Samsung’s US store listed the 128GB Wi-Fi model at $999.99 in October 2026, though retailers often discount it.
Best for: anyone who wants a compact, premium tablet with a pen in the box and a long update promise.
Best Value Flagship: OnePlus Pad 3
Android Central’s top overall pick is the OnePlus Pad 3, which it praises for its price-to-performance ratio. OnePlus lists a 13.2-inch 3.4K (3,392 x 2,400) LCD with a 144Hz refresh rate (available in supported apps), Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite, eight speakers and a 12,140mAh battery that charges at up to 80W with OnePlus’s own adapter. The tall 7:5 screen suits reading and side-by-side apps. The Stylo 2 pen, Smart Keyboard and Folio Case are sold separately.
The trade-offs are an LCD rather than an OLED panel and an accessory bill that adds up. Our OnePlus Pad 3 review summarizes what the published reviews found.
Price: $699.99 on OnePlus’s US store in October 2026.
Best for: students and professionals who want flagship speed on a large screen without paying Samsung flagship prices.
Best Big Screen: Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra
All three guides name the Tab S11 Ultra as their big-screen or premium pick. GSMArena lists a 14.6-inch 2,960 x 1,848 Dynamic AMOLED 2X display at 120Hz, the same Dimensity 9400+ chip as the Tab S11, 12GB of RAM (16GB with 1TB of storage), an 11,600mAh battery and 45W charging, in a 5.1mm body weighing about 692g. Tom’s Guide measured 12 hours and 13 minutes in its battery test. Android Central’s drawbacks: it is still very expensive, its PWM dimming issues continue (a concern if you are sensitive to flicker), and there is no LTE or 5G model in the US.
Price: $1,299.99 for the 256GB Wi-Fi model on Samsung’s US store in October 2026. For more detail, see our Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra review.
Best for: artists, note-takers and anyone who wants a laptop-sized screen.
Newest Samsung Flagships: Galaxy Tab S12+ and Tab S12 Ultra
Samsung announced the Galaxy Tab S12+ and Tab S12 Ultra on September 30, 2026, and they went on sale in select markets on October 7 running Android 17 and One UI 9. SamMobile reports that both will receive seven Android upgrades and seven years of security updates. According to GSMArena, both use MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500. The S12+ has a 12.6-inch 2,800 x 1,752 AMOLED display and a 10,600mAh battery, and the S12 Ultra keeps a 14.6-inch screen and an 11,600mAh battery.
Samsung’s US store listed the 256GB Wi-Fi models at $1,199.99 (S12+) and $1,399.99 (S12 Ultra) in October 2026. Because the S11 series has the same seven-year update promise and is often discounted, it is the better value for most buyers unless you want the newest chip.
Best Mid-Range: Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE and Tab S10 FE+
The Tab S10 FE, released in April 2025, brings the S Pen and an IP68 rating down to a lower price. Samsung’s launch announcement lists the S Pen as in the box for both FE models. GSMArena lists a 10.9-inch 2,304 x 1,440 LCD at 90Hz, Samsung’s Exynos 1580, 8GB or 12GB of RAM, an 8,000mAh battery, 45W charging and microSD expansion. Being an LCD, the screen can’t match the deep blacks of the AMOLED models.
The larger Tab S10 FE+ is Tom’s Guide’s best overall Android tablet. It has a 13.1-inch 2,880 x 1,800 LCD, and Tom’s Guide recorded 15 hours and 43 minutes in its battery test, though it notes that demanding games can leave the chip struggling and that the FE+ lacks Galaxy AI features.
Price: $549.99 (Tab S10 FE) and $699.99 (Tab S10 FE+) for 128GB Wi-Fi models on Samsung’s US store in October 2026. Our Galaxy Tab S10 series review covers the FE models too.
Best for: students and note-takers who want a pen and water resistance for less.
Best Budget: Samsung Galaxy Tab A11+
The Tab A11+ went on sale in November 2025. According to GSMArena, it has an 11-inch 1,920 x 1,200 LCD at 90Hz, a MediaTek MT8775 chip in the US model, 6GB or 8GB of RAM, four speakers with Dolby Atmos, microSD expansion, a 7,040mAh battery and 25W charging. That is enough for streaming, browsing, video calls and schoolwork, but not for demanding games. If you want a pen in the box, the S10 FE is the cheapest Samsung tablet here that includes one.
Price: $299.99 for the 128GB Wi-Fi model on Samsung’s US store in October 2026. For cheaper options, see our guide to tablets under $200.
Best for Streaming: Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2
Tom’s Guide picks the Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 as the best Android tablet for streaming. It praises the JBL-tuned speaker system and built-in kickstand, and in its battery test the tablet lasted 16 hours at 60Hz and 13 hours and 39 minutes at 120Hz. GSMArena lists a 12.1-inch 2,560 x 1,600 LCD at 120Hz, a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 chip, a 10,200mAh battery and 45W charging. Tom’s Guide’s reservations are that it is not built for heavy workloads and that the speaker design makes it awkward to hold. It succeeds the 2024 Lenovo Tab Plus, an 11.5-inch model with eight JBL speakers and a Helio G99 chip.
Price: check Lenovo and major retailers. We could not confirm a current US list price.
Best for Gaming: RedMagic Astra 2
Both Android Central and Tom’s Guide name the RedMagic Astra 2 their gaming pick. It pairs a compact 9.06-inch 2,400 x 1,504 OLED display at 185Hz with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, and Android Central lists an 8,300mAh battery with 75W charging and a liquid-cooling system. The downsides, per those reviews: an IP54 rating, no cellular model, an awkwardly placed main USB-C port and RedMagic’s own software. The original Astra is covered in our RedMagic Astra review.
Price: RedMagic’s store listed the 12GB/256GB model at $699 and the 16GB/512GB model at $799 in October 2026.
Best for Young Kids: Amazon Fire HD 10 Kids
Android Central’s pick for children is the Fire HD 10 Kids. According to Amazon’s product page, the current 13th-generation (2023) model is aimed at ages 3 to 7 and has a 10.1-inch 1080p display, an octa-core processor with 3GB of RAM, a kid-proof case with a kickstand, and a two-year worry-free guarantee (“If it breaks, return it and we’ll replace it for free”). It includes one year of Amazon Kids+, which then renews from $7.99 a month. Keep in mind that it runs Amazon’s Fire OS, so apps come from Amazon’s Appstore rather than Google Play. See our best tablets for kids guide for alternatives.
